We were responsible for the design and furniture production of the common areas in the Sekisui House Sha Maison series.
Taking inspiration from the background of the previous generation, who were once blacksmiths, and themed around the uniquely Japanese aesthetic of “wabi-sabi”—which values cherishing things that have stood the test of time—rust-effect ironwork is incorporated throughout the space.

Furniture was designed with a low center of gravity relative to the soaring ceiling height, creating a sense of spaciousness throughout the area to highlight the cherished garden passed down through generations.
Display shelves crafted with the motif of the “enso” circle, symbolizing Zen aesthetics, and original iron lighting fixtures that appear to float like art pieces, lend depth to the space.
Artworks line the passageways, creating a gallery-like atmosphere. Geometrically cut iron fragments express the layered history of blacksmithing, each bearing distinct rust patterns and capturing the beauty of time's accumulation through light and shadow.

The result is a refined communal space that feels simple yet evocative, filled with an air of dignified elegance.
